Can a Physical Therapist transfer a license to Texas as a military spouse?
Yes. Texas is a member of the Physical Therapy Compact (PT Compact), so a Physical Therapist holding a multistate/compact license can practice in TX without re-applying. Compact privilege is purchased per state where you want to practice. Military spouses moving to a non-member state can use VAEIA 2022 portability.
Your physical therapy licensing board in Texas
Texas waives the application fee and expedites issuance of a license by endorsement to a physical therapist or PTA who is a military spouse, and under Occupations Code Chapter 55 a PT or PTA already licensed in good standing in another jurisdiction is exempt from Texas licensure while the service member to whom the spouse is married is stationed at a Texas military installation.
