HonestMOS

Got a wild idea? We build for service members — not the brass, not shareholders. If it's good, it ships.

Our mission is to become unnecessary.

Until then — welcome to the truth.

What This Is

Honest MOS is the first platform built specifically for military job transparency. Structured, verified reviews of every Military Occupational Specialty across every branch. The truth about what the job is actually like, what the base is actually like, and what the institution actually rewards — told by the people who lived it.

We exist because the military has a tradition: ask young people to sign multi-year contracts based on a pitch, a brochure, and a recruiter who is definitely evaluated on how many people they ship. Then act surprised when buyer's remorse shows up wearing a fresh haircut.

We fix that with reality.

What We Are Not

We are not anti-military. We're anti-BS. There's a difference.

We are not a grievance farm. Structured data, not screaming.

We are not a doxxing site. We will burn this platform to the ground before we expose someone.

We are not a recruiting tool. We don't work for the institution. We work for the individual.

We are not permanent. If the military builds what we've built, we'll archive ourselves and leave. That's a feature, not a failure.

The Burn-It-Down Clause

We are publicly committing to a 10-year mission: become unnecessary.

If, in 10 years, the military has:

  • Honest job descriptions that actually reflect reality
  • Anonymous climate feedback systems people trust
  • Support systems that work the first time you use them
  • Leadership channels that don't punish honesty
  • Base services that aren't a casino where the house always wins

Then Honest MOS will:

  • Archive the platform
  • Open-source the core technology
  • Release anonymized data to researchers
  • Donate what we built to a nonprofit foundation
  • Shut down

No forever empire. No engagement flywheel fueled by suffering. Just a platform with a point and an expiration date.

We're not trying to burn the military down. We're trying to burn the lies down. If we win, we disappear. That's the deal.

What We Believe

Truth is readiness.

A force that can’t describe itself honestly can’t improve itself.

Anonymity isn’t cowardice. It’s protection.

When retaliation is a known feature of the system, anonymity is the seatbelt.

Structured honesty beats unstructured rage.

We build tools for clarity, not venting. Data you can compare, not rants you scroll past.

We don’t do loyalty theater.

We do outcomes. We do “did it get better.” We do receipts.

We are pro-troop.

Which sometimes means being anti-BS.

The Non-Negotiable Promise

Anonymity-by-default isn't a feature. It's a constitution.

Ghost mode means no name, no rank, no unit, no base. Just truth without a return address. Anyone can read the platform — the protection isn't who can see your post, it's what they see. A ghost post reveals nothing about who wrote it. That's the only protection that actually holds.

You choose Ghost, Callsign (your MOS and branch visible), or On the Record (your full profile attached). That choice is yours. We default to Ghost because that's the conservative option. If you want more visibility, opt in.

If we ever compromise your anonymity, you should leave. And we should shut down.

How We Stay Alive

We believe in being upfront about money.

Honest MOS sustains itself through:

  • Contextual advertising on the platform (relevant to what you're reading, never based on tracking you)
  • Affiliate partnerships with vetted services (clearly labeled, always)
  • Anonymized, aggregated data products (trend reports, research datasets — never individual data)
  • Premium tools and dashboards (you can see what you're paying for)

What we will never do:

  • Sell your identity or personal data
  • Let sponsors influence ratings or reviews
  • Run surveillance advertising that tracks you across the internet
  • Expose who wrote an anonymous post under any circumstances

You'll always know how we make money. If it ever feels wrong, tell us.

The Endgame

Honest MOS starts as a review site.

It becomes a community.

The community becomes a trust layer.

The trust layer becomes infrastructure.

The infrastructure becomes unnecessary.

That's the plan.

Protected by default. Honest by design.
