CQ officer walked through the barracks at 2200 for an impromptu inspection. Found one soldier with an unauthorized microwave. Confiscated the microwave. Wrote a counseling statement. The counseling statement took 45 minutes to write. There are not enough people for the missions we have. The counseling was about a microwave.

Got tasked to drive a colonel to the airport at 0400 for a flight at 0630. Showed up, loaded his bags, made the 45-minute drive. Got to the airport and he realized his flight was tomorrow. Drove back in silence. Nobody said a word about it. This is the Army.

Our unit's network went down on a Friday afternoon. I had it fixed in 20 minutes. Spent the remaining 4 hours of the duty day writing a 3-page incident report explaining how I fixed it in 20 minutes. The report took longer to write than the outage lasted.

Korea TDY. Landed at 1400. Told formation was at 0530 next morning. Asked when I could check into the hotel. Was told the hotel keys are distributed at the morning formation. Slept in the terminal.
