⚠ VAEIA federal backstop

Not through the compact — Connecticut is not currently a Physical Therapy compact member. A military-spouse Physical Therapist relies on VAEIA 2022 / 50 U.S.C. § 4025a, which requires Connecticut to recognize a valid out-of-state license upon relocation for military orders.

The Department of Public Health offers a Servicemembers Civil Relief Act licensure pathway under which the spouse of an active-duty servicemember can obtain a Connecticut health profession license, including physical therapist, by submitting a marriage license and a notarized affidavit of having practiced in the profession within the previous two years.
