Can a EMT transfer a license to Texas as a military spouse?
Yes. Texas is a member of the Recognition of EMS Personnel Licensure Interstate CompAct (REPLICA), so a EMT holding a multistate/compact license can practice in TX without re-applying. REPLICA covers cross-state response privileges, not full license portability for routine employment. Spouses moving permanently may need state license + VAEIA portability.

Military spouses who completed EMT training (including in the military) and hold current NREMT certification may obtain Texas EMT certification through the reciprocity application, and DSHS rules give military spouses a one-year grace period after demobilization to renew an expired certification.
