Artillery
Egyptian Army artillery operates M109A5 self-propelled howitzers among other platforms. Artillery has a supporting role in Sinai operations where the terrain and the counter-terrorism mission make indirect fire a supplemental rather than primary tool. Fire mission coordination and technical competency are the core skills. Artillery soldiers have less operational exposure than infantry in the current Sinai environment but the specialty provides strong technical foundations.
