About This Condition

A group of disorders causing progressive scarring and inflammation of the lung interstitium, leading to a dry cough and worsening breathlessness. Interstitial lung disease is a PACT Act presumptive condition associated with inhaled particulate and toxic exposure, rated on pulmonary function testing and imaging.

Evidence Needed

  • Pulmonary function tests (including diffusion capacity, DLCO)
  • High-resolution CT scan of the chest
  • Lung biopsy where performed
  • Documentation of deployment to a qualifying location
