About This Condition
A chronic inflammatory airway disease causing reversible airflow obstruction, wheezing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. Asthma diagnosed after qualifying service is a PACT Act presumptive condition, reflecting evidence that burn pit and airborne-hazard exposure can trigger new-onset asthma. It is rated on pulmonary function testing and the level of medication required for control.
