Can a Physical Therapist transfer a license to Alabama as a military spouse?
Not through the compact — Alabama is not currently a Physical Therapy compact member. A military-spouse Physical Therapist relies on VAEIA 2022 / 50 U.S.C. § 4025a, which requires Alabama to recognize a valid out-of-state license upon relocation for military orders.

Under Board Rule 700-X-2-.08(3), a spouse of active United States military personnel who holds a valid PT or PTA license from another jurisdiction shall be issued a temporary Alabama license upon application, and the initial application fee for military spouses is waived.
