⚠ VAEIA federal backstop

Not through the compact — Alaska is not currently a Occupational Therapy compact member. A military-spouse Occupational Therapist relies on VAEIA 2022 / 50 U.S.C. § 4025a, which requires Alaska to recognize a valid out-of-state license upon relocation for military orders.

Under the centralized licensing statute AS 08.01.063, the spouse of an active-duty service member stationed in Alaska who holds an equivalent license in another state is issued an expedited temporary courtesy license valid for 180 days, which reaches the Board of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy.
