Can a Licensed Professional Counselor transfer a license to Alaska as a military spouse?
Not through the compact — Alaska is not currently a Counseling compact member. A military-spouse Licensed Professional Counselor relies on VAEIA 2022 / 50 U.S.C. § 4025a, which requires Alaska to recognize a valid out-of-state license upon relocation for military orders.

Alaska issues a temporary military courtesy license to an active duty member or the spouse of an active duty member to practice as a professional counselor within 30 days of a complete application, valid for 180 days and renewable once, under 12 AAC 62.135.
