Got a wild idea? We build for service members — not the brass, not shareholders. If it's good, it ships.

The Kinnear Husky Battalion at the University of Washington has operated since 1916 and received the MacArthur Award in 2016-2017, placing it among the top eight ROTC programs nationally. Its signature advantage is proximity to Joint Base Lewis-McChord, one of the largest Army installations in the Pacific Northwest, where cadets conduct field training exercises including rappelling and squad-level tactical assessments in conditions designed to mirror the national Advanced Camp assessment. JBLM hosts the 8th Brigade of U.S. Army Cadet Command, which means the institutional Army has a formal presence nearby that supports the UW program's access to ranges, facilities, and active-duty mentors. The program expanded to Seattle Pacific University and Northwest University to broaden its commissioning base across the Seattle area. UW's research-heavy academic environment produces strong OML candidates, and the program has a history of competitive branch selection outcomes. JBLM's active 2nd Infantry Division and I Corps presence means cadets who express interest in IBCT assignments have real examples nearby.
