About This Installation
Headquarters of the Marina de Guerra del Perú and its Pacific Fleet. Home to the AIP-equipped Type 209 Casma-class submarines, Lupo-class frigates, and missile corvettes. The Callao naval base hosts UNITAS Pacific exercises with US and South American navies annually. The AGS Unanue oceanographic research vessel operates from here across the South Pacific.
