Air Force Officer / Pilot
The Mongolian Air Force operates a small fleet that includes Soviet-era transport aircraft (An-26) and helicopters (Mi-8/Mi-171), as well as trainer aircraft. Mongolia does not operate fighter aircraft as of 2025. The Air Force's primary missions are transport, VIP airlift, search and rescue, and support to ground operations. Mongolia's Air Force has participated in regional exercises under the Third Neighbor partnership framework, including RIMPAC and bilateral exercises with the US Air Force. Pilot candidates should understand this is a transport and utility aviation force — not a fighter/combat aviation career — within the constraints of Mongolia's budget and the diplomatic sensitivity of its position between Russia and China.
