About This Installation
Italy's primary naval base and home to the Navy Programming Centre (MARICENPROG). Houses the majority of the Italian Navy surface fleet including ITS Cavour (CVH-550) aircraft carrier, FREMM frigates, and submarine force. The Mar Grande and Mar Piccolo anchorages can accommodate the entire Italian fleet. Italy's most important naval installation.
