Little Rock is the state capital with government, healthcare (UAMS, Baptist Health), and financial sector jobs (Dillard's, Stephens Inc). Moderate job market for a state capital. Remote work common.
Wichita is the Air Capital of the World — Spirit AeroSystems, Textron Aviation (Beechcraft/Cessna), Airbus, and Bombardier all have major operations. Healthcare and education available. Surprisingly strong aviation market.
Medical
Little Rock AFB Clinic (19th Medical Group) — clinic only. Baptist Health and CHI St. Vincent in Little Rock are solid civilian hospitals. UAMS Medical Center is the academic medical center.
McConnell AFB Clinic (22nd Medical Group) — clinic only. Via Christi and Wesley Medical Center in Wichita handle most needs. Solid civilian healthcare infrastructure.
Gate Commute
Main gate on Vandenberg Blvd — 5-10 min delays at peak. Jacksonville to Little Rock proper is about 20 min on Highway 67/167.
Rock Road gate is the primary entry — 5-10 min delays at peak. Base is on Wichita's southeast side with easy highway access.
