Honest version: Fort Huachuca — Army Intelligence Center, Mountain views and hiking, but Very remote — Tucson 75 min away. Redstone Arsenal — Army Materiel Command, Huntsville is a booming tech city, but Humid summers. You'll spend more of your actual life in Sierra Vista, AZ or Huntsville, AL than on any range. That's worth weighing. Both run cheap — your BAH pockets actual savings here, which in the military is rarer than a perfect PT score. Fort Huachuca's forecast: Desert — hot summers, mild winters, monsoon season. Redstone Arsenal's: Hot & humid summers, mild winters. Pack for both. Complain about both. That's the tradition.

Fort HuachucaVery limited. Sierra Vista economy revolves around the post. Some retail and healthcare jobs locally. Tucson (75 min) has a larger job market but is a long commute. Remote work is the best option for professional spouses.
Redstone ArsenalExceptional. Defense/aerospace hub — Lockheed, Boeing, Northrop, Raytheon, SAIC. Best spouse market in the Army.
Medical
Fort HuachucaRaymond W. Bliss Army Health Center — primary care and limited specialty services. Not a hospital. Expect referrals to Tucson (75 min) for anything beyond basic care. Canyon Vista Medical Center in Sierra Vista for emergencies.
Redstone ArsenalFox Army Health Center — primary care only. Huntsville Hospital is Level I trauma.
Gate Commute
Fort HuachucaMain gate and Buffalo Soldier gate — traffic is minimal. This is not a congestion post. The real commute challenge is the 75-minute drive to Tucson for anything the local area does not have.
Redstone ArsenalMain gate off Martin Road — minimal delays. Huntsville traffic light.
