You are training to be a Signals Intelligence Analyst — a specialist who processes, analyzes, and reports on intercepted communications and electronic signals to produce intelligence for commanders. You are entering a career field that operates in the most classified environment in the Air Force and that requires you to become simultaneously a linguist, a technical analyst, and an intelligence professional.
Complete the 1N2X1 initial skills training pipeline, beginning with Goodfellow AFB, TX for intelligence fundamentals and then the SIGINT-specific training pipeline. Learn the fundamentals of signals intelligence — COMINT (communications intelligence), ELINT (electronic intelligence), and FISINT (foreign instrumentation signals intelligence). Study the collection systems used in Air Force SIGINT and learn to operate SIGINT processing and reporting tools. Develop the analytical habits required to process raw signals intercepts and produce intelligence reports that answer operational requirements. All training occurs in classified environments.
