Business formation fee exemption (Act 135 of 2016)
$125 Certificate of Organization or Articles of Incorporation waived; also $250 foreign registration, $125 LP/LLP registration, $70 fictitious name
The Bureau of Corporations waives the filing fee on your formation documents when a veteran or reservist signs them and attaches proof of service. This is a genuine, immediate saving on day one — and the reason a formation service cannot beat filing it yourself in Pennsylvania.
Who qualifiesVeteran discharged under conditions other than dishonorable, or a current reservist or Guard member. Business must be independently owned, not dominant in its field, and have 100 or fewer employees. Multi-owner businesses need at least 51% veteran or reservist ownership. The veteran must personally sign the formation documents and attach a DD-214 (Member-4), NGB-22, VA card, or DoD ID.
