Five weeks of "congratulations, you're about to be responsible for airmen" at your local base. ALS is where the Air Force teaches you to counsel, mentor, and write EPRs — skills your supervisor probably should have taught you but didn't. The curriculum is heavy on communication and light on tactical leadership, which is very on-brand. Pass this and you can pin on Staff Sergeant.
