  • 1430-1530BLC packet review or FAA A&P prep window. The JSAMT coordinator updates your maintenance hours documentation; you review the next module of the FAA written-exam prep; you walk through the BLC pre-course materials if your slot is approaching. The disciplined SPC blocks this hour and keeps it.
  • 1530-1630Production-control review. The section's open work orders, parts-on-order status, scheduled-inspection cycle, MTF schedule, deadline-aged aircraft. Brief the senior component-system specialist or production control NCO on anomalies; email the production control NCO the section status before he asks.
  • 1630Final shop walk and tool turn-in. Tools accounted for by serial number; TMDE returned to the cage with calibration verified; shop and flight-line cleaned to FOD standard. The senior component-system specialist walks the bay; a missing tool delays release until found.
  • 1700Released. Most garrison days. High-OPTEMPO weeks (gunnery rotation, CTC train-up, deployment prep, an actual deployment, night-shift PMD on deep-attack-rehearsal birds, MTF support) extend this by hours — 12-hour shifts standard, 18-hour pre-mission pushes not unheard of.

Weekly Cadence

The Mon-Fri rhythm at SPC level in an AMC or ARB flight-line maintenance section runs on the production-control schedule and the ARB flight schedule. Monday is heaviest planning — the section production board is updated, the week's scheduled 250-hour / 500-hour / phase inspections are loaded, parts-on-order status is reviewed (with attention to the high-dollar Apache LRUs: engine modules, transmission components, M-TADS/PNVS turret parts, Longbow FCR modules), the ARB flight schedule drives required-up dates for gunnery tables and deep-attack rehearsals, and the senior component-system specialist or 151A warrant briefs the section. The SPC walks out of Monday morning with the week's assigned tasks and the cherries assigned to him. The afternoon is wrench time on the carryover and the first new work of the week. Tuesday and Wednesday are the production rhythm — PMDs, scheduled inspections, corrective maintenance, MOCs, MTF support, parts runs, FOD walks, coordination with 15Y armament on any armament-event preparation. Sergeant's Time Training (STT) under DA PAM 350-58 is where the senior component-system specialist and the SGTs above the SPC run lanes for the section. The SPC may demonstrate a procedure (safety-wire pattern on rotor-head hardware, torque sequence on transmission mount, FIP run-through on a hydraulic anomaly, M-TADS/PNVS boresight verification, panel-removal sequence on a Block II avionics bay) for the cherries; he may help the SGT instructor with the lane scoring. STT is also the place the SPC's mentoring of the cherries shows — the cherries who consistently execute the section's STT lanes are the cherries the SPC mentored, and the senior component-system specialist reads it. Thursday is often range support for the ARB's gunnery cycle (the SPC supports airframe readiness while 15Y soldiers run armament reload at the FARP — the two MOSes work side-by-side on the line), recovery operations, or pre-FTX preparation if the brigade is in a training cycle; Friday is the company-level event (PT, awards formation, 1SG inspection, brigade BUB prep) and release. Friday afternoon is the production-control NCO's last-look on the week's open work orders — anything that should have closed but did not is a Monday-morning problem. The week's other rhythm is administrative. NCOER input cycles run quarterly under AR 623-3 (if corporal-pinned, the SPC writes NCOER input on the cherries he leads; if not, he contributes input on himself for the section sergeant). Counseling DA Forms 4856 are monthly per soldier — block 30 minutes per soldier and keep it. School packets (BLC primarily at SPC, Boeing / Apache OEM training when offered, the Track NCO Course at Fort Eustis for ASE depth, the 151A warrant officer packet conversation), leave requests under AR 600-8-10, and family-care plans under DA Form 5305 live in iPERMS and the unit S-1.     The 15R / 15Y handoff on Apache armament events has a specific structure. The 15Y armament repairer owns the M230 chain-gun mechanical assembly, the Hydra 70 M261 launcher, the AGM-114 Hellfire (Longbow and Romeo) rails, the APKWS variant, the JAGM rails as they field, and the ammunition / missile handling. The 15R owns the airframe-side electrical and avionics interfaces these systems ride on: the wing-pylon wiring continuity, the rail interlock electrical signal, the M-TADS/PNVS boresight that defines target-to-weapon alignment, the data-bus integration on AH-64E Block I and Block II. After any panel removal that touches the avionics or M-TADS/PNVS turret, boresight verification per the TM procedure is the 15R's responsibility before the aircraft is signed as airworthy for armament employment. The discipline: every armament event has a 15R-and-15Y coordination point; both sign off on their lanes; the maintenance officer or 151A warrant signs the airworthiness disposition. Document the MOC results in TAMMS-A; brief the maintenance test pilot on what the MOC showed. A clean MOC is the precursor to a clean MTF.
