ASVAB OF Score
Operators & Food
What OF Measures
OF covers transportation, food service, and supply operations. The minimum is 85 across most OF jobs, making it one of the more accessible composites. Despite the humble job categories, the formula includes VE (communication), MC (mechanical systems), and the speed-based subtests NO and CS — reflecting that these roles require operating complex equipment quickly and safely.
Drivers and operators need clear communication (VE) to receive and relay instructions, mechanical understanding (MC) to maintain their vehicles, and the numerical speed (NO) and pattern recognition (CS) to process logistics data, forms, and orders quickly.

Jobs That Require OF
4 MOS in our database require a OF score. Listed highest-to-lowest requirement.
How to Improve Your OF Score
Subtests ranked by impact on your OF score. Improving the top-ranked subtest first maximizes cross-composite benefit.
VE feeds OF and also GT, CL — highest cross-composite leverage.
Vehicle operators must understand their equipment. MC also feeds ST, SC, MM.
Pattern recognition speed. Practice mechanics — timed symbol-matching exercises.
Simple arithmetic fast. Mental math drills are the only path here.
