Directed the air defense fight at the officer level — advising on the employment of battle management assets, activating and deploying those systems, and controlling the counter-air missions that kept enemy aircraft away from the MAGTF.
The Story
The air-defense officer and the air-support officer spent careers solving mirror images of one problem — who is coming in, and what are we sending out — from separate chairs with separate schools and separate qualification ladders. The DOTMLPF-C working group that merged them in October 2024 rated the risk unanimously low. Both chairs went away; the problem did not.
