The Sacramento Mountains are the saving grace — Cloudcroft is a gorgeous mountain town at 9,000 feet that turns Holloman from 'Cannon's sequel' into 'actually kinda nice if you know where to look.' The sunsets over the Tularosa Basin are absurd — golds, purples, pinks that look AI-generated but are just New Mexico being New Mexico. The 49th Wing does real work, the Reaper community is growing, and the cost of living is so low you'll build actual savings. The trade-off is that you're building those savings in Alamogordo, and that's a sentence with its own gravity.
