Got a wild idea? We build for service members — not the brass, not shareholders. If it's good, it ships.

Utah's NROTC is the only Naval ROTC program in a landlocked state that is roughly 500 miles from the nearest ocean, and the unit has operated continuously since 1945 — celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2025. The program produces Navy and Marine officers who have chosen the sea service not because of geographic familiarity but because of deliberate commitment — a self-selection that the unit's active-duty staff deliberately cultivates. Service selection results cover all warfare communities: surface warfare, submarine, aviation, special warfare, and Marine Corps. University of Utah's engineering and health sciences programs feed technical and medical warfare communities. Salt Lake City's altitude and outdoor terrain provide rigorous physical training opportunities, and the unit uses Utah's mountains for field exercises that simulate operational conditions. The unit participates in the Rocky Mountain ROTC competition circuit. Graduates describe the unit culture as serious and outcomes-focused within a strongly supportive cohort.
