About This Program

Det 060 at USC carries the name Airmen of Troy and operates in the most defense-industry-dense metro area in the country — Los Angeles AFB, home of Space Systems Command, sits nearby, making this one of the strongest Space Force commissioning environments in AFROTC. Cross-enrollment from area schools expands the corps beyond USC proper, and the LA location gives cadets access to aerospace and defense contractors (Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, Boeing, L3Harris) that many will work alongside as officers. The wing culture reflects USC: academically competitive and professional, with a cosmopolitan diversity. Rated board competitors here benefit from the PCSM-awareness built into the program, and career fields spanning cyber, space operations, and acquisitions are naturally fed by the engineering and computer science schools. The Pacific Air Forces pipeline is realistic given the campus's Pacific-facing geography.
