Got a wild idea? We build for service members — not the brass, not shareholders. If it's good, it ships.

Det 075 at San Diego State is home to the Aztec Aviation Organization (AAO) — a cadet-run club that is arguably the most structured pilot preparation program attached to any AFROTC detachment in the country. AAO provides T-34 Mentor backseat flying opportunities, formation flight experience, C-17 and KC-135 flight line access at March Air Reserve Base, and aerospace plant tours, resulting in a documented 100 percent graduation rate from USAF Undergraduate Pilot Training for its alumni, many of whom graduate at the top of their UPT class. NAS Miramar (F/A-18 and F-35 wing) is five miles from campus, and March ARB is 60 miles north. The San Diego military community is one of the densest in the country, making career field exposure across the entire joint force a natural feature of campus life here. If pilot training performance — not just selection — is the metric, AAO's track record is exceptional.
