Got a wild idea? We build for service members — not the brass, not shareholders. If it's good, it ships.

Ole Miss NROTC was founded in 1946 and serves as Mississippi's flagship naval officer commissioning program. The unit describes itself as "a brotherhood and a family" — a characterization that aligns with the small size and close culture of the Oxford campus. Marine Option midshipmen complete Navy and Marine summer training in a deliberate sequence: sophomore summer surface or submarine cruise (Navy) or Fleet Marine Forces (Marine), junior summer OCS, and senior-year service selection. The Marine Option here requires numerous weekend Field Training Exercises throughout the academic year, building a consistent operational tempo. Navy Option midshipmen who submit competitive service selection packages from Ole Miss access submarine, aviation, SWO, and special warfare pipelines. The unit is very active within the Ole Miss campus community, and NROTC is broadly respected in a state with strong military service traditions.
