Altus AFB, where Air Mobility Command trains heavy aircraft crews, is two hours west. The detachment hosts visits and internship pipelines to both installations, giving cadets exposure to airlift, tanker, intelligence, and logistics culture that most programs can only simulate. The wing is mid-size and described as close-knit and supportive rather than overly competitive.
