About This Program

Det 595 at NC State — the Wolfpack Warriors — has maintained a 100 percent rated selection rate for the last eight consecutive years for cadets competing on the rated board, a sustained performance record that makes it one of the most dependable pilot-producing programs in AFROTC. The detachment has also commissioned Space Force officers in each of the last three consecutive classes through the competitive USSF selection process. Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldsboro, home of the 4th Fighter Wing (F-15E), is 60 miles east — one of the most combat-capable fighter wings in the Air Force and a consistent mentorship resource. NC State's engineering and computer science schools create strong acquisitions, cyber, and research career field pipelines that complement the rated output. The Research Triangle concentration of DoD-funded research amplifies the academic-military alignment.
