The Gator Navy Battalion has operated at UF since 1972 and commissions around 30 officers annually. Florida's engineering and pre-med programs feed the submarine and Navy Medicine pipeline respectively. The Marine Option here benefits from proximity to Blount Island Command and the Marine logistics presence in Jacksonville.
