About This Program

Det 090 at Colorado State occupies one of the most strategically located AFROTC environments in the country: Peterson SFB (NORAD, USNORTHCOM, Space Force headquarters elements) is 60 miles south, Schriever SFB (Space Deltas and cyber/space operational units) is 65 miles south, and Buckley SFB (Space Delta 4, missile warning) is 50 miles south. The Fort Collins program produces officers who genuinely understand the space and cyber mission before they commission because that community is their backyard. CSU's AFROTC detachment was named best in the country as a small-to-mid size program in an earlier evaluation cycle, reflecting high academic standards and physical fitness metrics. The growing Space Force pipeline here is not aspirational — it is structural, given what sits down US 25.
