Got a wild idea? We build for service members — not the brass, not shareholders. If it's good, it ships.

The University of Arizona battalion enrolls over 100 midshipmen, midshipman candidates, and active-duty MECEP and STA-21 students — a notable scale for a southwestern program. The Tucson campus is distant from the fleet, but NAS Tucson (Davis-Monthan Air Force Base hosts A-10 and other units nearby) and NAS Lemoore in California are within range for aviation familiarization. Marine Option midshipmen receive additional physical training on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and are required to pass the Marine Corps PFT each semester — the standards are enforced, not aspirational. The university's aerospace engineering and physics programs feed the submarine and aviation pipelines. Arizona's STEM depth in optics and systems engineering also produces candidates for the information warfare and intelligence officer communities. Service selection spans the full warfare spectrum. The battalion's integration of active-duty MECEP students brings seasoned Marines into the midshipman cohort as a professional development resource.
