Gossip or rumors. Named after the water cask on old sailing ships where sailors gathered to chat. The Navy's version of the office water cooler, except the intel is 90% wrong and 100% believed.
Example Usage
"The scuttlebutt is we're pulling into Dubai, but last time the scuttlebutt said that we ended up in Bahrain."
