Field Strip
Definition
To disassemble something completely. Originally for weapons, now used for anything: "field strip that engine," "field strip that PowerPoint." The military's universal approach to understanding things: take them apart.
Example Usage
"He field-stripped the coffee maker to clean it. It has not worked since. Some things should stay assembled."
