USCG Sector HonoluluTripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) on JBPHH — full military hospital serving all branches. One of the best military medical facilities in the Pacific. Civilian options include Queen's Medical Center and Straub.
Gate Commute
MCAS IwakuniMain gate and Monzen gate — minimal traffic. Small base that is easy to walk or bike. Off-base commute in Iwakuni is non-existent. Some personnel commute from Hiroshima area on weekends.
USCG Sector HonoluluHonolulu traffic is surprisingly brutal for an island — H-1 freeway is gridlocked during rush hour. Base access through JBPHH gates can add 15-30 min. Many CG members live in Ewa Beach or Kapolei for shorter commutes to Barbers Point.
