Rescue Swimmer School

Four months of training to jump out of helicopters into open ocean to save people who are drowning, injured, or both. Navy Rescue Swimmer School is located at NAS Pensacola and combines intense water confidence training with emergency medical skills. The attrition rate is high because the ocean doesn't negotiate and neither do the instructors. Every rescue swimmer deployment story sounds like a movie because the job actually is that dramatic.
