Basic Reconnaissance Course

The gateway to becoming a Recon Marine — 12 weeks of amphibious reconnaissance, deep surveillance, and water skills that make most Marines tap out. BRC combines the swimming standards of dive school with the land warfare intensity of a Ranger patrol. The pool is where the attrition happens first, but the field exercises are where it finishes. Recon Marines are the quiet ones in the chow hall who can swim five miles in open ocean.
