Annual BASOPS for Clear Space Force Station, Alaska — home to the Solid State Phased Array Radar System (SSPARS) providing missile warning coverage of the Pacific and polar regions. Located in the remote Alaska interior 100 miles south of Fairbanks, Clear's extreme climate (-40°F winters) drives significant O&M costs for personnel and radar systems. O&M supports approximately 500 military and civilian personnel.
