About the IPPT
The Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT) is Singapore's standardised fitness assessment for all NSmen. Two events — push-ups (1 minute) and the 2.4km run — are individually graded and the overall award is the lower of the two event results. You cannot Gold on run alone; push-ups must also meet Gold.
NSmen must attempt IPPT each IPPT window (typically 1 year). Failure triggers Remedial Training (RT), usually 20 sessions, followed by a re-test. Exemptions apply for medical conditions — consult your Medical Officer. Check your IPPT window dates and book your test at ns.sg.
Incentive amounts (Gold $500, Silver $300, Pass $200) are credited after the test is recorded. These rates are published by MINDEF and may be updated. Always verify at ns.sg before your test window.
