Annual BASOPS for White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico — the largest military installation in the U.S. at 3,200 square miles. White Sands is where the first atomic bomb was detonated (Trinity Site) and today serves as the Army's primary missile and rocket test range. Every major missile system — Patriot, HIMARS, hypersonics — is tested at White Sands before fielding. O&M covers instrumentation, radar systems, and safety infrastructure for the joint test range. Approximately 8,500 personnel.
