Annual BASOPS for U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria, Germany — the largest U.S. Army garrison in Europe, encompassing Grafenwoehr Training Area (the largest U.S. training area outside CONUS), Rose Barracks Vilseck, and Tower Barracks Grafenwoehr. Grafenwoehr's training area supports armored maneuver training for all U.S. and NATO forces in Europe. Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, training tempo at Grafenwoehr surged significantly. O&M supports approximately 16,000 U.S. military and civilian personnel and dependents.
