Annual BASOPS for Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan — the largest U.S. Navy installation in the world outside the continental U.S. and home port for the 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge and the only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS George Washington. Yokosuka supports over 25 U.S. Navy ships and is the operational hub for the most powerful forward-deployed fleet in history. Japan hosts the largest U.S. military presence of any country. O&M supports approximately 27,000 U.S. military personnel and dependents.
