Suggest a Feature →Annual BASOPS for Camp Humphreys, South Korea — the largest overseas U.S. military installation in the world. Completed in 2017 at a total cost of $10.7B (cost-shared with the Republic of Korea), Humphreys now hosts approximately 40,000 U.S. military personnel and their families. BASOPS includes management of a fully self-contained small city: schools, hospitals, shopping, housing, and 24/7 installation security. Host Nation Support (HNS) from South Korea partially offsets BASOPS costs under the Special Measures Agreement.
FY2025 MILCON for Camp Humphreys. Projects focus on ongoing facility completion and force protection infrastructure ($120M) plus additional family housing construction ($80M). Despite the massive build-out completed 2017-2022, the base continues substantial capital investment as USFK consolidates additional forces from legacy Korean installations.
