Seton Hall University students access Naval ROTC through a crosstown arrangement with the Rutgers University NROTC unit in New Brunswick — the primary New Jersey Naval ROTC program, which was re-established in March 2012 and serves Rutgers and Princeton as crosstown affiliates. Seton Hall itself hosts Army ROTC as its primary on-campus program. Students from South Orange interested in a naval commission commute to New Brunswick for Naval Science classes and unit activities.
