Plans and coordinates the loading, movement, and embarkation of Marine units onto ships and aircraft. Manages logistics planning for amphibious operations and complex MAGTF movements.
“Coordinate the movement of Marines and equipment across the globe. Logistics and embarkation specialists are the experts who make amphibious operations possible, managing the complex puzzle of getting the right equipment on the right ship at the right time.”
MEU workups will become the defining experience of your contract. The amphibious embarkation process — manifesting, weighing, sequencing, and loading every vehicle, container, and piece of equipment onto an LHD in the precise order that allows combat offload in the precise opposite order — is a logistics puzzle of genuine complexity. Getting it wrong means a tank is buried under six months of MREs when the MEU needs it in hour one of an NEO. Nobody cares about you when it goes right. Everyone calls you when it goes wrong. The TCAIMS system is your primary tool and your primary nemesis. Port calls are not what they were. Your civilian translation is supply chain coordinator or freight logistics manager, and that market is always hiring. The stress of getting this right is real, the consequences of getting it wrong are real, and the satisfaction of a clean embark is the quiet professional pride that no one outside your community will ever understand.
